Covenant Renewal Service This Sunday

This Sunday at Mt. Zion we will be participating in a Covenant Renewal Service in which we will renew our covenant with God. This is a very important and meaningful service and it is one that requires some soul searching and preparation. Attached is the Covenant Prayer which is included in the service on Sunday. I gave this prayer to the congregation on Sunday and issued them the invitation to read and think about this prayer at least once a day every day this week so that our minds and hearts will be better prepared to renew our covenant relationship with God. I hope that we will all come to church this Sunday with a renewed desire to love God and an eagerness to serve him with all of our strength in 2014. God Bless you as you participate in this time of self examination and renewal.

I truly love and appreciate you all,

Pastor Donald

Wesley’s Covenant Prayer

I am no longer my own, but thine.
Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt.
Put me to doing, put me to suffering.
Let me be employed by thee or laid aside for thee,
exalted for thee or brought low by thee.
Let me be full, let me be empty.
Let me have all things, let me have nothing.
I freely and heartily yield all things
to thy pleasure and disposal.
And now, O glorious and blessed God,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
thou art mine, and I am thine. So be it.
And the covenant which I have made in earth,
let it be ratified in heaven. Amen.
